Roadtrippin': North NS - SouthWest NS.

Halifax

So we left Antigonish behind and 265 km later we arrived in Halifax! It was a gray day full of snow and we weren't very impressed by the capital of Nova Scotia. We went for a quick walk through the city, the citadel was closed and nothing in compare with the one we have in Namen!

A few hours later we ended up in 'Brussels'...a nice pub and restaurant where they tried hard to immitate the capital of Europe! We enjoyed the fake 'Manneke Pis' and ofcourse The Belgian Beers and chocolate!

We besloten niet langer in Halifax rond te hangen zodoende wat centjes te sparen dus reden we door naar het vissesdorpje Lunenburg waar we de nacht doorbrachten.

Lunenburg

Lunenburg is a nice little town 90 km in the south of Halifax! Een vissersdorpje met veel gekleurde huisjes. Vandaag de dag maken ze evenveel geld met de toeristen als met de visserij...uiteraard in de winter, NO tourists exept US!!!

We spend the night there so breakfast included, we enjoyed one of our Christmas presents! Sweet hot chocolate with marchmallows, thanks Mandi!!!

Kéjumkujik National Park

If you drive to Liverpool (Eastcoast of NS) just turn of right to KNP! Its a great park with lots of small hikes and a great campingspot in the middle of the woods! This time of the year the Kéjumkujik lake was all frozen! Just the two of us in this overwhelming piece of nature...amazing! Just watch out for the turtles...: )

Op onze derde en laatste wandeling, 's morgens in de vroegte en helemaal alleen, werden wij verrast door deze prachtige bosuil, The Barred Owl (Strix varia). Volledig in extase en nog pril in de schoenen als 'natuurfotograaf' slaagde ik er niet in een goede foto te maken...my hands were frozen and we couldn't get closer so this is not the best picture but its all we have, enjoy!!!
