Hwy 17: Sudbury - Thunderbay.

Highway Seventeen, It took us five days. Or better we took five days...and on five days, lot of things can happen like:

Ties, a twenty year old German Hitchhiker! It was nice to meet you man. We hope you enjoyed Winnipeg and you'll get back in Montreal safe and well. All respect for the way you travel, keep on pushing that deck of yours.
We dropped him off in Winnie The Pooh's Hometown and he ended up in Thunderbay the same day.

Beautiful scenery, some parts of Hwy 17 are magnificient! If the weather is nice and you have Lake Superior on your side the view is overwhelming. So once in a while we stop and enjoy a walk along the water together with Mister Thurber, our partner in crime. We saw waves on the lake like it was the pacific ocean, they even surf on it although they say it never warms up...

A flat tire, luckely I was able to change it myself! Eaten alive by the blackflies but on the road again in a half an hour, I guess it's all part of the adventure : )!

Pukaskwa National Park! This is one of the three Parks along Lake superior and it has some beautiful spots. We spent some time on a beautiful beach and I couldn't resist a dive in World's largest freshwater lake. My friend Joe told me to do it but he also said that the water is as cold as ice!!! I know now that Lake Superior...never warms up ; )!

Wild bears, it's great to cross a country and see Wildlife every day. We've seen 14 moose so far, we've seen a lot of dear, raccoons, porcupines, birds and a handful of bears on this trip. This juvenile was enjoying some fresh herbs near the national park, awesome.

The church of Upsala, just a postcard along our travels!

Campspots, theoritically you're not allowed to camp if you're not on a campground or a Walmart Parking lot. So far we never had any trouble finding a good spot along the road. We can't afford to pay a campsite every night so we have to. Sometimes it's a crappy abandoned dirtroad, sometimes it's a beautiful spot near a lake.

So in a meanwhile we crossed the border and made it through Winnipeg. This news comes to you from Riding Mountain National park featuring Mister Hospitality himself : ), a lot of Wildlife and beautiful weather. Keep in touch folks, more news later!

Greets from the Prairies...yihaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
